A Mission of Sorts
Sketchnoting 101 is my love letter to the visual thinking world.
Sketchnoting has had such an incredible impact on so many lives, including my own. Helping to spread the good word of visual thinking is what I want to contribute to the world.
To have more positive impacts on people’s lives.
To help more folks experience the awesome effects of visual thinking.
This project is my unique, inclusive, empathetic offering to the world.
Something that only I could create through my unique combination of experiences, challenges, and connections.
And then…I’ll iterate.
I’ll try and try again to fine-tune this helpful offering so folks find real meaning and value in the skills and voice I’m here to share.
You see, I want to introduce complete beginners (and the creatively-curious 👀) to the world of visual thinking. To show them that they *can indeed* sketchnote, regardless of drawing abilities.
Visual thinking helps folks like me (and you!) learn better, communicate clearer, and think more creatively. It’s had a huge impact on myself and countless others.
This workshop and coaching offering is my way of spreading the good word of visual thinking to help as many folks as I can.
That’s because it’s about ideas, not art.
Through all of the different workshops I’ve run, sketchnoting styles I’ve seen, and practitioners I’ve admired, I’ve decided the direction I want to take this work in.
(At least for now)
A true introductory “101” offering.
You won’t find a focus on advanced skills, different types of visual thinking, or deep dives into illustration here.
I want to take people from zero to one.
I want to ignite the sketchnoting fire for folks and take them from,
While their skills will grow with time and practice, I love showing folks that they can sketchnote and work visually. And then happily point them in the direction of the style they’d like to develop, creators to follow, and resources to access.
I want to get people started on the visual thinking path. And then watch where it takes them.
Whether they want to learn more efficiently, communicate more clearly, or think more creatively — sketchnoting is a skill that brings nothing but benefits.
And like a fine wine, it only gets better with time.
So let me know what would be helpful!
Right now I have this sketchy little blog, a semi-regular newsletter, and an offering for team / community workshops and one-on-one coaching.
I hear video content is big, so perhaps creating video content to help more folks?
I am a human-centered designer at heart.
So let me know, you wonderful humans.
How can I help you?
Be it questions, comments, concerns, or compliments;
we take them all here!
